Ahead of the Budget session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this is the first Parliament session since 2014 where “we have seen no foreign interference” or external forces attempting to create unrest.

“Perhaps since 2014, this is the first session of Parliament in which there has been no foreign spark a day or two before the session, there has been no attempt to ignite a fire from abroad. I have been observing for 10 years, since 2014, that before every session people used to sit ready to create mischief, and here there is no dearth of people who fan it. This is the first session I am seeing in the last 10 years in which there was no spark from any foreign corner,” the Prime Minister said.

With his government tabling its first full-fledged budget on Saturday in its third term, Modi said he prayed that Goddess Lakshmi, who is associated with wealth, will bless the poor and middle class.

He said the upcoming Budget will provide new trust, energy that the country will definitely become 'Viksit' when it will celebrate 100 years of Independence in 2047.

"This budget will instill new confidence and bring new energy, ensuring that when India marks 100 years of independence, it will be a fully developed nation. With the collective efforts of 140 crore Indians, this resolution will be fulfilled," the Prime Minister stated.

The Prime Minister also stated that his government has been working in mission mode in its third term for an all-round development and asserted that innovation, inclusion and investment have shaped its economic agenda.

Stressing on the mantra of 'Reform, Perform and Transform', Modi said fast-paced development has to be achieved and the maximum emphasis is on reform.

He said the state and Central governments have to perform together and one can see transformation through public participation.
