No casualties after a newly constructed bridge collapsed in Bihar

A part of a newly constructed bridge over the Bakra river collapsed today in the Araria district of Bihar's Pararia hamlet, a police officer said.

He claimed no casualties were reported.

The bridge was not accesible for public as approach roads were yet to be constructed.

The bridge links the Kursa Kanta and Sikty neighborhoods in the Araria district.

Talking with PTI, Superintendent of Police (SP), Araria, Amit Ranjan, stated, "A section of a recently built bridge over the Bakra river has collapsed." Authorities have arrived to investigate the situation." He went on to say that the incident's cause is yet unknown.
One person died and ten others were injured when an under-construction bridge over the Kosi River collapsed in the Supaul area in March.
