The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is letting people take their celebrations to the tracks. In a policy announced on Saturday, the corporation said Namo Bharat trains and stations can now be booked for personal milestone events, including birthday gatherings, pre-wedding shoots and other private occasions.
What’s on offer
Individuals, event organisers and photography or media companies can book both static and running Namo Bharat coaches. A mock-up coach at the Duhai Depot is also available for static shoots.
The starting price is Rs 5,000 per hour. Each booking includes an additional 30 minutes on either side for setting up and removing decorations or equipment.
How events will be allowed
The NCRTC said celebrations will be permitted only between 6 am and 11 pm. Activities must be organised in a way that does not disrupt train operations or inconvenience commuters.
Personalisation is allowed through simple decorations, but only within NCRTC guidelines. All events and shoots will take place under the supervision of NCRTC staff and security personnel for safety and compliance with operational protocols.
Why these locations
Namo Bharat stations on the Delhi–Meerut corridor, including Anand Vihar, Ghaziabad and Meerut South, are part of the offering. NCRTC said the initiative is expected to draw residents along this route who want a familiar public space for private occasions.
Film and media shoots, too
Alongside personal events, NCRTC has also framed a premises hiring policy for film shoots, documentaries, advertisements and other visual projects in Namo Bharat trains and stations.
These locations can be booked for short-term use at rates the corporation described as competitive.
