Delhi Police has released all opposition MPs detained on way to EC office to protest revision of electoral rolls in Bihar.

On Opposition’s march to Election Commission on Bihar SIR, BJP leader and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan says, “The country can see if there is anyone who is working against the Constitution, it is led by Rahul Gandhi. SIR is not happening for the first time in the country.”

Sitharaman withdrew the earlier version of the Income Tax Bill, 2025, from the Lok Sabha last week. The Bill, which replaced the Income Tax Act, 1961, was introduced in the Lower House of the Parliament on 13 February earlier this year.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to unveil a revised Income Tax Bill 2025 in the Lok Sabha, incorporating 285 suggestions from a Select Committee. This new legislation aims to simplify tax processes and address previous shortcomings, potentially reshaping the income tax landscape in India.

According to media reports, floor leaders of the INDIA grouping are expected to meet EC officials to formally raise their objections against SIR. The march is scheduled to begin around 11:30 am from Parliament.
