‘Mickey Mouse government’: Suhel Seth mocks Haryana over Gurugram waterlogging mess

In a series of posts on X, Seth accused both former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and incumbent CM Nayab Singh Saini of failing the city.

Heavy rainfall across Delhi-NCR on Monday evening brought relief from the sweltering heat but left Gurugram struggling with severe waterlogging and traffic chaos.

The flood-like situation has triggered sharp political commentary, with author and entrepreneur Suhel Seth taking a dig at the Haryana government for what he described as years of neglect.

In a series of posts on X, Seth accused both former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and incumbent CM Nayab Singh Saini of failing the city.

“On a serious note: Gurugram is done. Like you can’t imagine. The first bloke to ruin this was Manohar Lal Khattar, and Nayab Singh Saini just can’t manage this situation,” he wrote. He further added, “The BJP needs some serious introspection. They’ve been running this state for 11 years now. You can’t blame Nehru.”

Earlier, Seth had mocked the administration by reposting visuals of waterlogged roads with the caption, “Looks like Disneyland is already here. It’s a Mickey Mouse Government.”

Seth's remarks quickly drew a counter from BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who argued that the roots of Gurugram’s infrastructure mess lay in decisions taken years ago.

“If private builders, without government planning, collude with the Congress to build a city of corruption, it will turn into a city like Gurugram,” Dubey posted. He added that accountability should be fixed on those builders and the officials of the then government.

Meanwhile, traffic across large parts of Gurugram moved at a snail’s pace, with commuters stuck for hours on National Highway 48 and arterial stretches such as Rajiv Chowk. Visuals shared online showed cars, trucks and two-wheelers wading through waist-deep water.
