A Punjab policeman who worked with the state intelligence has been missing since Tuesday night. The incident has prompted a massive search operation, specially after his car was found with blood stains inside it - with no clue about his disappearance.
The missing policeman, Satinder Singh, had left his office in Mohali and was on his way to his residence in Patiala when he last contacted his family on Tuesday night around 9 PM, following which he went missing.
Singh had told his wife over the call that he would come home soon. However, when he did not return home, even after two hours, the family called the police in anxiety. Police later found his newly-purchased car near Bhara with blood stains inside it, which added to the family's fears.
Police has made extensive efforts on all fronts to locate Singh, including searches in the Bhakra Dam. However, all efforts till date have gone to vain. "We are exploring all possible angles. The vehicle has been seized for forensic analysis, and technical surveillance is underway to retrace his movements," police said.
According to his family, Singh had no known enmity with anyone. "We were expecting Satinder home by 10pm. He has a four-year-old son. We don't know what happened. He had no animosity with anyone. We urge the police to make more efforts to trace him," Singh's father said.
