33-year-old Hussain Ahmed Mazumdar, who suffered a panic attack during a flight and was subsequently slapped by a co-passenger, had gone missing after his family confirmed that he never arrived in Silchar through his connecting flight from Kolkata.

However, a report by Assam Tribune said that he was found in the custody of the CISF. Cachar Police confirmed that he was handed over to CISF personnel after arriving in Kolkata after the mid-air incident.

Police also told Assam Tribune that while both passengers had amicably resolved the issue, they missed their connecting flights from Kolkata. Mazumdar's family confirmed that his phone was not reachable.

Police, however, said that since Mazumdar was a first-time flyer, he likely panicked and misplaced his phone. Police said that they are in tiuch with the CISF personnel to know Mazumdar's whereabouts.

Zubairul Islam Mazumdar, a relative of Mazumdar, expressed frustration over the lack of information, stating, "When we didn't find him on the Silchar flight, we contacted the local authorities and even went to Udharband police station near the Silchar airport."

Mazumdar's family had alleged that they received no concrete information about his whereabouts from the police, while his father, who is reportedly battling cancer, has been devastated ever since their son went missing.

Mazumdar was travelling from Mumbai to Silchar via Kolkata on Flight 6E-2387 on Thursday, when he suffered a panic attack.

Two cabin members were helping him exit the aircraft when a passenger on an aisle seat slapped him, showed a video recorded by another passenger. The cabin members urged him not to get violent, while another passenger protested the violence.

The assaulter, identified as Hafijul Rahaman, was detained upon landing in Kolkata and handed over to the police. He was released later.
