Mahua Moitra and Pinaki Misra host wedding reception in Delhi |Pictures

West Bengal MP Mahua Moitra tied the knot with former MP Pinaki Misra in a private wedding ceremony on May 30 in Germany.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra and former Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Pinaki Misra hosted a grand wedding reception on Tuesday at Hotel Lalit in New Delhi.

"Nationalist Congress Party (SP) MP Supriya Sule shared the photos on her X handle.  "Congratulations Mahua (@MahuaMoitra) and Pinaki! Wishing you a beautiful journey ahead filled with joy and happiness," she said.

Moitra tied the knot with Misra in a private wedding ceremony, that took place on May 30 in Germany.

He posted on X, “Attended the reception of TMC MP Mahua Moitra ji and former MP Pinaki Misra ji at Hotel Lalit. I wish them a happy married life."

Moitra,  who is known for her fiery speeches in the Parliament, is a two-time MP from West Bengal’s Krishnanagar constituency. Meanwhile, Pinkali Misra is a senior advocate in the Supreme Court. An alumnus of St Stephen’s College, he pursued a law degree from Delhi University. Misra first made it to the Lok Sabha from Puri in 1996 on a Congress ticket.

Both had been married before. Moitra’s former husband, Danish financier Lars Brorson, rarely made public appearances during her political career. Misra had married Sangita Misra, a respected judge of the Odisha High Court, in 1984. They have two children and later divorced amicably.

According to India Today, friends say the connection between Moitra and Misra grew gradually, based on conversation, shared values and a mutual appreciation of intellect and independence.

Sagarika Ghose, TMC MP and Deputy Leader in the Rajya Sabha, also took to X (formerly Twitter) to congratulate the couple. She posted, “Wishing beautiful bride @MahuaMoitra and Pinaki Misra every happiness at their lovely reception this evening. Big congratulations."
