Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday said that infrastructure projects worth ₹4 lakh crore are currently underway across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), underscoring the state’s focus on rapid development.
Speaking at the Global Leadership Summit, Fadnavis said that every district in Maharashtra will soon be connected through the Vadhavan Port. He also added that Vadhavan will become India’s first offshore airport and will thus become a crucial step toward improving logistics and connectivity.
During the interview, the state Chief Minister also talked about the much-anticipated bullet train project. He asserted that the project is moving steadily and that it would hopefully be completed by 2029.
When asked what the state government is doing to foster a healthy and robust startup ecosystem in the state, Fadnavis said that Maharashtra tops the list. “Maharashtra is number one in startups, it is India’s startup hub,"he said.
"Maharashtra rukne waala nahi hai, we are not going to stop," the Chief Minister said in his message to the youth of the state.
He added that the state’s development blueprint is closely aligned with the national vision, saying, “We have aligned Viksit Maharashtra with Viksit India.”
In a candid reflection on governance, Fadnavis said, “I don’t say we are the best, but we take what others have done good from them, and learn from them.”
Concluding his address at the summit, he reaffirmed the state’s ambition to compete globally. “We want to be the best globally,” he said.
