Monalisa Bhosle, a 16-year-old girl from Madhya Pradesh, was selling Rudraksha rosaries at the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh when a content creator recorded her video that went viral on social media, and she turned into an overnight sensation.

The sudden fame overwhelmed her, and she left Maha Kumbh for her hometown in Maheshwar, Khargone district.

However, in just two weeks, her striking amber eyes and radiant smile gained her a massive online following and even a film contract, as reported by the Times of India.

On January 28, Monalisa posted, "What could be a bigger achievement than people coming to meet me even after I returned to Indore? I need all your support. We will meet again soon at Maha Kumbh."

She now has 20.6K followers on X and 404K on Instagram.

She shares short videos about village life, traditions, and inspirational messages. Monalisa studies at a local government school. Her posts include motivational quotes.

In one of her videos, she stands next to a poster of Pushpa 2 and says, "Today outside the poster, tomorrow inside. That’s the cycle of time. See you soon in Mumbai." She often shares clips of Bollywood songs.

Monalisa has also used her fame to educate people about rudraksha beads. In one video, she says, "I sell rudraksha, and I never sell fake items. Did you know Panchmukhi Rudraksha has a seed inside? That is its mark of authenticity."

Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra, known for Ghaznavi, Srinagar, Shashank, and Diary of West Bengal, has announced that Monalisa will feature in his upcoming film, Diary of Manipur.

Her parents, a small-scale farmer and a handicraft seller, were initially worried about her sudden fame. But with support from local leaders and well-wishers, they have now accepted the new opportunities coming their way.

Monalisa's journey from selling Rudraksha to becoming a social media sensation shows the power of digital platforms in India, according to one of her followers.
