Lucknow police arrest two men for allegedly abducting, drugging and gang-raping woman after offering lift

Two men have been arrested by Lucknow police for allegedly abducted an 18-year-old woman on the pretext of offering a lift, drugged and gangraped her for four days.

The survivor has reportedly filed a complaint and a case has been registered under sections 127(2), 70(1) and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The two accused, Junaid (20) and Anshuman Mishra have been arrested, reported ANI.

According to the press release, the Madiyaon police team arrested the two accused who allegedly forcibly made the victim sit in their car and gave her 'spiked' tea to drink.

It said that after her head became heavy, they kept her roaming in the Madiyaon locality of Lucknow. It is alleged that they manipulated the survivor and took her to a flat and repeatedly raped her.

They also threatened to kill the survivor and her family if she disclosed the incident.

The survivor lodged a complaint at Madiyaon Police Station on October 22, saying that the accused forcibly made her sit in their car and offered her tea.

In her complaint, she said after her head felt heavy, they deceived her, took her to a flat, and raped her multiple times. She also complained that they threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident.

The release said that the Madiyaon police registered a case and immediately launched a search for the named accused persons and a case was registered under Sections 127(2), 70(1) and 351(3) of BNS against the accused.

The police arrested the accused men next day. According to the release, on October 23, the Madiyaon Police Team was patrolling in the area in search of the accused.

The team received information from an informer that the two named accused were standing near the GSI power house Chauraha. Acting swiftly, the police surrounded and arrested both accused persons at around 00:35 hours, the release said.

The accused reportedly told the police their names upon being asked. Junaid is a carpenter and a resident of Lucknow and Anshuman Mishra is a student living in the city. Mishra is from Bihar's Bhagalpur.
