Lashkar-e-Taiba commander and UN-designated global terrorist Hafiz Abdul Rauf on Wednesday led the funeral prayers for terrorists killed in India's strikes on terror facilities in Pakistan and PoK.

A video aired by Pakistan-based news channel Samaa TV shows Rauf leading the funeral prayers for the slain terrorists. Notably, armed personnel of the Pakistan Army and other law enforcement agencies are also seen offering their prayers alongside Rauf.

The funeral ceremony was held in Muridke, located 40 km from Lahore, for Qari Abdul Malik, Khalid and Mudassir, terrorists neutralized by India's precision strikes at terror bases in Pakistan.

Rauf was designated as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) in 2010 over his involvement in carrying out multiple terror attacks in India, including the 26/11 Mumbai attacks of 2008 and the Mumbai serial train blasts in 2006.

India's actions in the wee hours on Wednesday were in retaliation to the Pahalgam attack that saw Pakistan-backed terrorists gun down 26 civilians in the picturesque town in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.

Visuals of the attack, carried out at nine separate locations both in PoK and well as inside Pakistan, revealed significant damages to the terror infrastructure of Jaish-e-Muhammad, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.

One of the key sites targeted in India's strikes was 'Markaz Subhan Allah' in Bahawalpur area of Pakistan's Punjab province. The Markaz served as the operational headquarters of Jaish-e-Muhammad, the terror outfit associated with terrorist plannings, including the Pulwama attack on February 14, 2019.

Markaz Taiba in Muridke, the hub of Lashkar-e-Taiba located 40 km from Lahore, was another key site hit by Indian forces. The Markaz in Muridke served as the mushrooming ground for radicalisation of students to motivate them to join armed jihad. Intelligence sources said that slain Al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden financed Rs 10 million for the construction of a mosque and guest house within the Markaz Taiba complex.

All preparators of the 26/11 Mumbai attack, including Ajmal Kasab, were imparted intelligence training at this facility. David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Hussain Rana, the prime conspirators of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, had visited Muridke along with Abdul Rehman Sayed alias Pasha, Haroon and Khurram (co-conspirators) on the instructions of Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi.
