BJP’s Vijay Kumar Sinha secured 122,408 votes and defeated Congress's Amaresh Kumar by a margin of 24,940 votes who got 97,468 votes

BJP's Vijay Kumar Sinha is currently leading on the Lakhisarai Assembly seat by a margin of over 13,000 seats versus Congress's Amaresh Kumar.

As counting in third round is currently underway on the Lakhisarai Assembly constituency, BJP's Vijay Kumar Sinha is currently leading in contest against Congress's Amaresh Kumar.

Congress's Amaresh Kumar is currently leading on the Lakhisarai seat against BJP candidate and deputy chief minister Vijay Kumar Sinha.

With early trends giving a lead to NDA, deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha said, "What was anticipated is now turning into results. The trust that the people of Bihar have placed in Modi and Nitish Kumar will give the country a new direction."

"Appu and Pappu spread an atmosphere of madness without thinking, so no one takes their words seriously. Our results will be better than the exit poll," he added.

The BJP is leading on 5 seats, according to the early trends shared on the Election Commission (EC)'s website. Tejashwi Yadav-led RJD, meanwhile, is leading on two seats.

According to the Election Commission's Voter Turnout app, Lakhisarai reported a voter turnout of 63.46%.

Counting of votes has begun for the Lakhisarai Assembly constituency in Bihar, polling for which took place in the first phase of Bihar Assembly polls on November 6.

The growth story of Bihar will continue under the double-engine government of PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar, said BJP candidate from Lakhisarai, Vijay Kumar Sinha. "I am not worried about myself - I am a party worker and will continue to be so. Even Lalu Yadav used to get bowled on zero and still claim victory; Tejashwi Yadav is doing the same now," he said.

"The public will decide who will win the elections, 'parivarvaadi log' consider politics as their fiefdom. But the public of Bihar will give a strong message to the 'Yuvraaj' of 'jungle raaj'," said deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha.

Ahead of the counting of votes for Bihar Assembly polls, Bihar's deputy CM and and BJP candidate from the Lakhisarai Assembly seat Vijay Kumar Sinha, said, "Today is one of the most important days of the biggest festival of democracy."

"The results today will be favourable for Bihar and the nation. The double-engine government will lay the strong foundation of India in the 21st century," he added.

The Lakhisarai Assembly constituency in Lakhisarai district is one of Bihar’s 243 seats and falls under the Munger Lok Sabha constituency. A general category seat, it has long witnessed keen electoral battles between the BJP and rival parties.

BJP candidate and deputy chief minister Vijay Kumar Sinha is eyeing the Lakhisarai Assembly seat for a fourth consecutive term, having won the previous time with 74,212 votes against Congress candidate Amaresh Kumar's 63,729 seats.

He won against JD(U)'s Ramanand Mandal in 2015 and against RJD's Fulaina Fulaina Singh in 2010.
