Amid battling controversy over his alleged comments against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra released a fresh video on Tuesday showing Shiv Sena workers vandalising a studio in Mumbai where he performed.
In the video, Kamra is seen singing a parody of the song "Hum Honge Kamyab" which he calls the new anthem of "Viksit bharat". The comedian sang it as "Hum Honge Kangaal". "...Mann mein andhvishwas, desh ka satyanash, hum honge kangaal ek din...". He further sang, "Honge nange chaaro or, karenge dange chaaro or, police ke pange chaaro or, ek din...Mann mein Nathuram, harkatein Asaram, hum honge kangaal ek din..." stated Kamra's song.

The video also showed the Sena workers burning Kamra's photo, getting ready to set fire to his effigy and flashing the victory sign after being granted bail by a magistrate's court following their arrest for the vandalism.
During a recent performace, Kamra allegedly referred to Shinde as "gaddar" and sung a parody song on the tunes of "Dil Toh Pagal Hai". The act drew a sharp criticism from the Shiv Sena. Shiv Sena workers vandalised the premises of Mumbai's Habitat studio to protest Kamra's jokes.
Kamra said he will cooperate with the police but does not regret his remarks or plan to apologise for them. “To the Mob That Decided That Habitat Should Not Stand: An entertainment venue is merely a platform. A space for all sorts of shows. Habitat (or any other venue) is not responsible for my comedy, nor does it have any power or control over what I say or do. Neither does any political party,” he said.
He said for his next show, he may opt for “Elphinstone bridge, or any other structure in Mumbai” in need of speedy demolition. Police have arrested Shiv Sena functionary Rahul Kanal and 11 others for ransacking the show venue.
Calling it a "conspiracy to malign Shinde", the Shiv Sena has lodged a police complaint against Kamra, Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders Sanjay Raut and Aaditya Thackeray, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Mumbai Police on Tuesday issued a summons to Kamra to remain present to record his statement. Shiv Sena legislator Mangesh Kudalkar on Monday also filed a complaint in the Kurla Nehrunagar police station against Kamra. Kamra is in Puducherry currently.
