A 34-year-old woman from Kolkata was allegedly gang-raped after four men barged into a house in northwest Bengaluru's Madanayakanahalli on Tuesday night, Deccan Herald reported, quoting police personnel.
Police also told the media that the men who raped the women also stole her valuables before they ran away from the house that they had barged into.
The woman works at a beauty parlour and was sleeping beside her four-year-old son when the men barged into her rented house at around 12:15 am in the Gangondanahalli area.
DH also reported that the men took turns to assault the woman and then fled with Rs 26,000 in cash and other valuables from the house.
Police then launched a probe into the matter and later revealed that the woman lives with a colleague, who was not present in the house during the time of the incident.
The Madanayakanahalli police rushed to the spot after they got information about the crime. The police have registered a case and have also tracked down two suspects.
Two of the suspects were detained based on CCTV footage. Police are questioning them to gather details about other accomplices. The survivor has been sent for medical examination, DH further reported.
