Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation Limited (KMF), which markets its products under the Nandini brand, posted record sweet sales of 1,100 metric tonnes worth Rs 46 crore during Dussehra and Diwali, up 38 per cent from last year.

“In 2024, 725 MT were sold for Rs 33.48 crore,” Karnataka Minister for Animal Husbandry and Sericulture K Venkatesh told reporters on October 21.

“During festive seasons like Dussehra and Diwali, demand for sweets rises significantly. For the 2024 festival season, KMF prepared in advance to offer over 40 varieties of sweets under the Nandini brand, selling a total of 725 metric tons and achieving a turnover of Rs 33.48 crore,” he said.

“For the 2025 festival season, KMF and its member milk unions planned meticulously about two months in advance, setting a sales target of 1,000 metric tons. Surpassing expectations, they sold 1,100 metric tons of sweet products, achieving a record turnover of Rs 46 crore- marking a 38 percent growth over the previous year and an all-time high in KMF’s history,” Venkatesh said.

KMF has recently launched a no-added-sugar sweet range for Diwali, catering to health-conscious consumers. Prices of Nandini ghee, butter, paneer, and select products also dropped from September 22 following a GST cut by the central government.

Under the Nandini brand, KMF offers over 175 milk and milk-based products, including ghee, butter, paneer, sweets, milk powder, beverages, and more. These are sold not only in Karnataka but also in neighbouring states such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala, and Delhi, as well as in Assam and select international markets.

“The purity, quality, and affordable pricing of its products have made Nandini a trusted brand among consumers,” Venkatesh said.

On average, 1 crore liters of milk are collected daily from dairy farmers across the state, of which about 65 lakh liters of milk, curd, and UHT milk products are distributed to consumers both within India and abroad.
