Jyoti Malhotra’s photo with man who carried cake to Pakistan Embassy after Pahalgam attack surfaces online

A clip showing a man delivering a cake to the Pakistan High Commission had gone viral.

A photo of YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was arrested on charges of espionage in Haryana’s Hisar, has surfaced online with a man who was spotted bringing a cake to the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi two days after the Pahalgam terror attack.

A clip showing a man delivering a cake to the Pakistan High Commission had gone viral.  In the viral footage, reporters surrounded the man and pressed him on the cake’s purpose, but he did not respond.

An X user - Being Political @BeingPolitical1- shared the post showing Malhotra with that man.  "Do you remember this video? When an employee of Pakistan High Commission brought a cake the next day of Pahalgam attack. This is the same person who was seen with Pak spy Jyoti Malhotra," the user said.

According to Times of India, the man is now linked to a broader espionage scandal involving Malhotra, who has been arrested for sharing sensitive Indian military information with Pakistani intelligence operatives.

Malhotra runs the YouTube channel "Travel with JO". She has travelled to several countries, including Pakistan. She has 3.77 lakh subscribers on YouTube and 1.33 lakh followers on Instagram.

She was  arrested by Hisar police for allegedly passing sensitive information about India to Pakistani intelligence operatives and was actively projecting a positive image of Pakistan on social media. She was booked under Sections 3,4 and 5 of the Official Secrets Act and under Section 152 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

An FIR lodged in Hisar says that Malhotra came into contact with Ehsan-ur-Rahim, alias Danish, a staffer at the Pakistan High Commission, which according to the external affairs ministry has been declared persona non grata for indulging in activities outside his official status in India.

According to Hisar's Superintendent of Police Shashank Kumar Sawan, Jyoti Malhotra did not have direct access to any information related to the military or defence operations that she could have shared, but she was in touch with Pakistani officials. "Certainly, they were developing her as an asset. She was in touch with other YouTube influencers. They were also in touch with PIOs (public information officers)," the senior police officer told NDTV. "This is also (a kind of) warfare, in which they try to push their narrative by recruiting influencers."
