JD(S) leader HD Revanna granted bail in kidnapping case

JD(S) leader HD Revanna was on May 13 granted conditional bail in the kidnapping case. He was arrested on May 4 after a case was registered by the son of a woman who was allegedly abducted on April 29.

The abduction case is linked to the allegations of sexual abuse of several women by Revanna's son and Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna.

According to police sources, the woman was allegedly abducted to prevent her from testifying against Prajwal.

Explicit videos of sexual abuse of women by Prajwal went viral on social media based on which the Karnataka government formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on April 28 to probe the case.

Son of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, 66-year-old Revanna was remanded to judicial custody till May 14.
