Pahalgam attack: Supreme Court grants interim relief to family facing deportation to Pakistan

The Supreme Court on Friday granted interim protection to a Srinagar-based family that was facing the risk of being deported from India to Pakistan in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack of April 22, reported Bar and Bench.

Tensions rose between India and Pakistan and the Indian government decided to suspend visa services to Pakistani nationals. All Pakistani nationals were directed to leave India by April 27.

The family before the top court, however, alleged that they were arrested despite being Indian nationals who held government identification, including Aadhaar cards, PAN cards and voter ID. The family comprised of a married couple and their four children.

Maharashtra man, who sustained bullet injury in Pahalgam terror attack, returns home

Navi Mumbai resident Subodh Patil, who was injured in the Pahalgam terror attack and was subsequently treated in Kashmir, has returned home to a hearty welcome by neighbours and locals.

The 60-year-old man sustained a bullet injury to his neck when terrorists fired indiscriminately at tourists in the Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on April 22. Patil was at a tea stall at the time.

Patil reached his home at Royal Heights Apartments in the Kamothe area along with his wife on Thursday night, said an official. The couple was welcomed by their neighbours, relatives and locals in the area, he said.

'Not a secret': After Asif, Bilawal Bhutto opens up on Pakistan's 'dirty' past of backing terror groups

Pakistan opens Attari-Wagah border gate, begins taking back citizens from India: Reports

Pakistan has opened the Attari-Wagah border gate and agreed to take back its citizens who are still in India, as per reports.

As many as 70 Pakistani nationals were stranded at the border on Thursday after it was shut earlier as per the deadline. The Centre issued the 'Leave India' notice to Pakistani nationals after 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed by terrorists in Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22.

The deadline for exiting India for those holding SAARC visas was April 26. For those carrying medical visas, the deadline was April 29.

Pahalgam attackers still at large: How terrorists have evaded capture in South Kashmir

Ten days after the horrific terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam that left 26 dead, the perpetrators remain on the run. At least two Pakistani nationals and one resident of south Kashmir, who carried out the attack, along with a fourth one, who was hiding nearby to provide backup, are said to remain active and hidden in South Kashmir, as per National Investigation Agency (NIA) sources as quoted by NDTV and India Today.

Reports quoted NIA sources saying that the attackers are still in South Kashmir, particularly in the upper reaches of Anantnag, and have provisions to sustain themselves.
