Residents in some areas of Kashmir contributed cash, gold, and copper utensils to a relief fund for Iran amid the ongoing conflict.
The Iranian Embassy thanked donors on X, saying the gesture of kindness would “never be forgotten.”
“With hearts full of gratitude, we sincerely thank the kind people of Kashmir for standing with the people of Iran through their humanitarian support and heartfelt solidarity; this kindness will never be forgotten. Thank you, India,” the Iranian embassy in India said in a post on X.
A day after Eid celebrations, youth in Shia-majority areas of the Kashmir valley went door to door on Sunday collecting donations for those affected by the conflict in Iran.
Officials told PTI people from all sections of society, including men, women, and children, took part in the drive. Women, in particular, reportedly contributed generously, donating gold jewellery, copper utensils, and other valuable household items, while some families even offered livestock.
The Iranian embassy shared pictures and videos of some of the donations by the residents of various areas.
