IndiGo flight lands under full emergency conditions in Mumbai due to bomb threat

An IndiGo flight traveling from Jaipur to Mumbai made an emergency landing in Mumbai on Monday due to a bomb threat, sources said.

The flight landed safely at approximately 8:50pm, and the plane was moved to a remote area for a detailed inspection as part of security protocols.

A police official said that the aircraft had 225 passengers along with the crew, and no suspicious items were found during the search conducted so far.

"A full emergency was declared for IndiGo flight 6E 5324 from Jaipur to Mumbai of April 7 due to a bomb threat," said a source.

The police official mentioned that a note indicating a "bomb" threat was found in the rear bathroom of the plane.

The note read, "A bomb is waiting for you, not a joke," he added.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) issued a statement saying that the threat note was found on the flight from Jaipur to Mumbai. To ensure safety, a full emergency was declared at the airport at 8:43 PM, and the flight landed safely at 8:50 PM. Airport operations were not affected.

CSMIA is closely working with the airline and security teams to prioritize the safety of passengers and staff, said the statement
