A flight that was carrying Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav aborted take-off at the Lucknow Airport on Saturday. The IndiGo flight was flying to Delhi and had 151 passengers on board.

The flight - 6E 2111 was accelerating on the runway but the aircraft did not gain the thrust that was needed for it to lift off.

The captain of the aircraft followed the necessary protocol and applied the brakes, following which, the airplane came to a halt before the end of the runway. The flight was later changed for the passengers.

IndiGo has not issued any official statement on the matter as of now. Meanwhile, reports cited eyewitnesses describing the moments as "tense" after the aircraft came to a sudden halt after accelerating on the runway. No injuries were reported and the passengers were disembarked safely.

This has come just two days after a SpiceJet flight from Kandla to Mumbai had faced a technical snag after a wheel of the flight had fallen on the runway while it was taking off.

However, the plane from Kandla continued its journey and reached Mumbai safely. No problem was reported in landing. A spokesperson from the Mumbai Airport had later issued a statement on the matter.
