Indian Railways extends network: Sairang in Mizoram to be connected with Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati

Indian Railways has announced three new train services from Sairang station in Aizawl, connecting Mizoram’s capital with New Delhi, Guwahati and Kolkata

In a major boost to connectivity for Mizoram, Indian Railways on Thursday announced the launch of three new pairs of train services from Sairang station in Aizawl, linking the state capital to key destinations including New Delhi, Guwahati and Kolkata.

According to Indian Railways, the inaugural runs of all three services will take place on September 13, with regular operations beginning on the notified dates.

Sairang–Anand Vihar Rajdhani Express

The inaugural run of Train No. 02507 (Sairang–Anand Vihar Terminal) Rajdhani Express will depart Sairang at 10:00 hrs on September 13 (Saturday) and reach Anand Vihar Terminal at 07:30 hrs on September 15 (Monday).

Regular services will begin on September 19, with Train No. 20507 leaving Sairang every Friday at 16:30 hrs and arriving in Delhi at 10:50 hrs on Sundays. The return train, No. 20508, will commence on September 21, departing Anand Vihar every Sunday at 19:50 hrs and reaching Sairang at 15:15 hrs on Tuesdays. The trains will operate via Badarpur Jn., Guwahati, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town and Bhagalpur.

Sairang–Guwahati Express

A special service, Train No. 05609 (Bairabi–Sairang), will run on September 13, departing Bairabi at 10:00 hrs and arriving Sairang at 11:15 hrs. It will then continue as Train No. 05610 (Sairang–Guwahati) Special at 12:30 hrs, reaching Guwahati at 02:30 hrs the next day.
Regular services of the Guwahati–Sairang Express (Train No. 15609/15610) will follow. From September 13, Train No. 15609 will leave Guwahati daily at 19:00 hrs and arrive in Sairang at 08:30 hrs the next morning. From September 14, Train No. 15610 will depart Sairang daily at 19:00 hrs, reaching Guwahati at 08:30 hrs the next day.

Sairang–Kolkata Tri-Weekly Express

The inaugural run of Express Train No. 03126 will depart Sairang at 10:00 hrs on September 13 and arrive in Kolkata at 17:00 hrs the next day.

Regular services will start from September 16, with Train No. 13125 (Kolkata–Sairang) departing Kolkata every Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 12:25 hrs and reaching Sairang at 19:45 hrs the next day.

The return service, Train No. 13126 (Sairang–Kolkata), will begin on September 18, leaving Sairang every Monday, Thursday and Friday at 07:15 hrs and arriving in Kolkata at 14:30 hrs the next day. These trains will run via Badarpur Jn., Guwahati, Goalpara Town, Golakganj, New Jalpaiguri and Malda Town.

The introduction of these trains is expected to significantly improve passenger connectivity for Mizoram, integrating the state more closely with the rest of the country.
