Canadian news outlet CBC News reported that one person was found dead in Clarence-Rockland and another individual was taken into custody. However, it remains unclear if this is the same incident mentioned by the Indian Embassy in its post on X.
The report, citing Ontario Provincial Police’s statement to Radio-Canada, revealed that the incident happened near Lalonde Street just before 3 pm Friday (local time), roughly 40 kilometres east of downtown Ottawa.
Authorities have yet to release details regarding the manner of death or confirm whether any charges have been filed against the individual in custody, the CBC News report said.
Meanwhile, the Ontario Provincial Police have advised Rockland residents to anticipate a heightened police presence in the area.
