India to soon reveal Pakistan’s aircraft kills in Operation Sindoor, says CDS Gen Anil Chauhan

The statement comes after the Shangri-La Dialogue interview in Singapore, where the Chief of Defence Staff had said that New Delhi was quick to understand the situation and turn it around despite the losses.

Days after confirming loss of combat jets during Operation Sindoor, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan on Tuesday said that New Delhi will soon share data on number of fighter jets Pakistan lost during the military offensive last month.

Addressing a lecture at university in Pune, the CDS said, “we will take out this particular data (on number of Pakistani planes shot down) and share it with you (media). We will tell you how many aircraft we destroyed and how many radars did we destroy. We’ll make a rough assessment of that and come out with that shortly.”

The statement comes after the Shangri-La Dialogue interview in Singapore, where the Chief of Defence Staff had said that New Delhi was quick to understand the situation and turn it around despite the losses. He had also said that the forces learnt from the mistakes and rectified them.

In Tuesday lecture also, the Chief of Defence Staff said that “When I was asked about losses on our side, I said these are not important. The results and how you act are important. It would not be very correct to talk about losses...”

Citing a cricket analogy, CDS Chauhan said, “...Suppose you go to a cricket test match, and you win by an innings defeat, then there's no question of how many wickets, how many balls and how many players....”
