India, Pakistan to hold naval drills in Arabian Sea on August 11-12

India and Pakistan are set to hold separate naval exercises in the Arabian Sea on August 11–12, operating in close proximity to each other’s maritime zones.

The drills, scheduled roughly 60 nautical miles apart, signal a heightened naval presence and strategic signalling between the two countries. Both navies have issued separate advisories for live-firing exercises in the Arabian Sea during the same period.

According to official notifications, the Indian Navy will carry out its maritime exercises from August 11 to 12 off the coasts of Porbandar and Okha in Gujarat.

While such drills are routine for both sides, the timing and location have drawn attention, coming amid escalated tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad in the wake of Operation Sindoor, India’s military strikes on Pakistan following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians.
