PM Modi was speaking at the NDTV World Summit 2025 at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
PM Modi also said that India is in no mood to stop. “Before 2014, discussions in conclaves were about how India would survive global headwinds and policy paralysis. But in the last 11 years, India has defied all odds," he said.
Highlighting India’s economic transformation, PM Modi said the nation has moved from being counted among the “fragile five” to ranking among the top five global economies.
Recalling the resilience shown during the pandemic, Modi said India surprised the world with its swift recovery.
“During COVID, when everyone wondered how India would cope, we proved every assumption wrong and emerged as the fastest-growing economy,” he said.
The Prime Minister pointed out that even as global headlines were dominated by wars and conflicts, India continued to move forward with strong economic fundamentals.
Over the past three years, India’s average growth rate has been 7.8%, with merchandise exports rising by 7%, he said.
