A TV actress has filed a molestation complaint at the Amboli police station in Mumbai, accusing a TV actor of inappropriately touching her during the Holi celebrations. The police have registered a case against the actor under section 75(1) of the BNS and have recorded his statement in the matter. The investigation is underway following the victim's allegations.

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in Mumbai has arrested Kapil Dedhia, a key suspect in the New India Cooperative Bank misappropriation case. Dedhia was apprehended in Vadodara and brought to Mumbai, where he was formally arrested and presented before the court. He has been remanded to police custody until March 19, 2025. Investigations revealed that Rs 12 crore, part of the misappropriated funds, was credited to Dedhia's account. Some of the funds were traced to Dharmesh Paun, a builder associated with Dharmesh Realty, while others came from Arunachalam, another wanted accused. Dedhia also allegedly received money from Hitesh Mehta. The investigation continues to trace the full flow of the funds and identify others involved in the financial irregularities.

Addressing the event for the 'Transfer of Assam Rifles Battalion Land to the Government of Mizoram' and the ceremonial exchange of maps, Union Home Minister Amit Shah says, "For nearly 35 years, there was a demand to relocate Assam Rifles into the interiors, for the development of Mizoram. The Swachh Andhra Program has kicked off across Nellore with a Plastic-Free Awareness Drive led by local officials. Nellore Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Surya Teja, explained that the Andhra Pradesh government has initiated the year-round Swarna Andhra, Swachha Andhra campaign, with special programs scheduled for every third Saturday statewide. "We have organized a mass plastic collection programme today in all 54 wards of Nellore... Plastic usage is extremely harmful not only to our health but also to the environment. In fact, plastic consumption can even lead to cancer... A heap of plastic will be made, and after the formation of a human chain, Swachhata pledge will be taken. First, second and third prizes will be given to those who collect the highest amount of plastic in each ward... We appeal to everyone to use jute or cloth bags instead of plastic... Nellore Municipal Corporation will ensure that a strict ban on plastic is implemented", he added.

Punjab's DGP announced that Amritsar Police dismantled a narco-terror module linked to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), arresting three key operatives from Bihar. The suspects were apprehended in the Kumarkhand area of Madhepura, Bihar, as they attempted to escape to Nepal. These individuals were involved in a previous operation where grenades and arms were recovered. The arrested men, who resided in Amritsar's Khandwala and Chehartta areas, are being brought back for further questioning.

In a recent raid in Hyderabad's Dhoolpet area, excise officials confiscated a large quantity of sweets and kulfi laced with ganja. Acting on credible information that certain individuals were selling ganja-infused treats like kulfi, chocolates, and sweets during the Holi festival, the officials arrested the seller, Satyanarayana Singh. A total of 100 ganja-infused kulfi ice creams and 71 sweets were seized. A case has been filed against the accused.

Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar of Hubballi-Dharwad reported that on March 1, a gang from Uttar Pradesh stole a large sum of money from an apartment in the city. This criminal group, which has committed crimes in multiple states, including UP, MP, Maharashtra, and Goa, was traced to the outskirts of Hubballi late at night. The authorities discovered a car and bike used in the crime the following morning. Two members of the gang, Akbar and Iqbal, were arrested with minimal force, and one more criminal was detained. The search for other suspects is ongoing. Three police officers sustained minor injuries during the operation.

Shah said, "I was just seven years old when I was first taught about Lachit Barphukan. However, after that, I read nothing about him until my graduation. He was restricted just to Assam. But today, his biography is available in 23 languages, and he continues to inspire children across the country."

An unidentified person attacked the accountant of Bhoolaxmi Temple in Saidabad with a chemical, police said today.

Inspector of Saidabad police station confirmed that the victim, Narsing Rao, sustained minor injuries in the attack.

A case has been registered, and a search operation is underway to track down the perpetrator.

Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday inaugurated the first phase of the revamped Lachit Barphukan Police Academy at Dergaon in Golaghat district. He also laid the foundation stone for the next phase of the project.

During the visit, Assam DGP Harmeet Singh briefed Shah on the academy’s upgraded facilities.

The Home Minister toured the premises, accompanied by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, and other senior officials, who also posed for photographs with him.

The revamped police academy is expected to enhance training infrastructure and improve law enforcement capabilities in the region.

A blast occurred late last night at Thakurdwara Temple in Khandwala after two unidentified bike-borne men allegedly hurled a suspected explosive at the premises.

No injuries have been reported so far. Police have reached the spot and launched an investigation.

Two people lost their lives, and two others were injured after a car plunged into a 900-meter-deep ditch on Bundel Road near Lokhandi.

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) received information about the accident on March 15. Upon arrival, the rescue team retrieved the bodies of the deceased and rescued the two injured passengers.

Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the first phase of the revamped Lachit Barphukan Police Academy in Dergaon, Assam, on Saturday. He will also lay the foundation stone for the second phase of the project.

The police academy, spread across 340 acres, is undergoing modernization in two phases at an estimated cost of Rs 1,024 crore, officials said.

Rescue operations are ongoing to save seven workers trapped inside the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel, officials said today.

The workers have been stranded since February 22 following a collapse inside the tunnel.

Authorities confirmed that the body of one worker was recovered from the tunnel on March 10.

Efforts are underway to reach the remaining trapped workers as rescue teams work against time.

Officials have deployed specialised teams and heavy machinery to clear debris and ensure the safe evacuation of those still inside.

Moga Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of Shiv Sena leader Mangat Ram following an encounter, officials said today.

The accused - Arun Gurpreet Singh, Arun Babbu Singh, and Rajveer Ashok Kumar - were taken into custody after a confrontation with the police.

All three have sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital in Malout, according to the Moga Police Social Media Cell.
