Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla, accused in the Saurabh Rajput murder case, have been lodged in separate barracks as per jail regulations, Senior Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma said today.
“They arrived three days ago and requested to be housed together or in nearby barracks. They were informed that the jail system does not allow contact between male and female barracks, and they were subsequently lodged separately,” Sharma stated.
During their medical examination, it was found that both accused were drug addicts and exhibited withdrawal symptoms.
"They cannot have access to drugs in jail, so they are being given medicines for withdrawal symptoms, treated through de-addiction programs, and provided with counseling, yoga, and meditation sessions," he added.
