Rajasthan has recorded 126 per cent more rainfall than normal this monsoon, and the spell of rain is expected to continue in many parts of the state for the next few days, PTI reported. A total of 183.5 mm of rainfall has been recorded in the state from June 1 to July 7 this year, which is 126 per cent more than the normal 81.3 mm, the meteorological department in Jaipur said on Monday.

An IndiGo Indore-Raipur flight with 51 passengers on board returned to the airport shortly after takeoff on Tuesday due to a technical fault. Heavy rainfall was expected in districts including Uttarkashi, Tehri, Bageshwar, Dehradun, and Rudraprayag. The State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) in Uttarakhand also issued a high-alert landslide warning for four districts Tehri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, and Chamoli.

The alert, dated July 6, warned of potential landslides on July 7 and 8 in several subdivisions, including Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Ukhimath, Ghansali, Narendra Nagar, Dhanaulti, Dunda, and Chinyalisaur. -- ANI

Delhi is under a 'yellow alert' with rain and thunderstorms forecast for Tuesday, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius, 0.9 notch above normal, according to the weather department.

A 'yellow alert' under the IMD's colour-coded warning system indicates the need to "be aware" of potentially impactful weather. The IMD has forecast a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain expected during the day with the maximum temperature likely to settle at 34 degrees Celsius.

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Mandla and Balaghat districts, warning of extremely heavy rainfall on Tuesday morning, and orange alert of very heavy showers for 10 other districts. It also issued a yellow alert of heavy rainfall for 13 others districts in Madhya Pradesh, which is seeing a wet spell since the last month with the advent of monsoon.
