Defence Acquisition Council, under the chairmanship of Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh on July 03, 2025, accorded Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for 10 capital acquisition proposals amounting to approx. Rs 1.05 lakh crore through indigenous sourcing. AoNs were accorded for procurement of Armoured Recovery Vehicles, Electronic Warfare System, Integrated Common Inventory Management System for the Tri-Services and Surface-to-Air Missiles. These procurements will provide higher mobility, effective air defence, better supply chain management and augment the operational preparedness of the Armed Forces.
AoNs were also accorded for procurement of Moored Mines, Mine Counter Measure Vessels, Super Rapid Gun Mount and Submersible Autonomous Vessels. These procurements will enable mitigation of potential risks posed to the Naval and Merchant Vessels. To provide further impetus to indigenous design and development, AoNs were accorded under the Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed Developed and Manufactured) category.

A Chandausi court in Sambhal district on Thursday set July 21 to hear a plea seeking ban on offering of namaz at the disputed Shahi Jama Masjid, which is claimed to be Harihar Temple. The petition sought the ban on offering of Islamic prayers citing its "disputed status".
Civil Judge (Senior Division) Aditya Singh took on record the plea filed by one Simran Gupta.
The dispute had previously reached the Allahabad High Court, where the Muslim side challenged the subordinate court's order for a survey of the mosque premises.

UP Cabinet approves formation of Rozgar Mission
Uttar Pradesh Cabinet on Wednesday approved a proposal to constitute the UP Rozgar Mission to help find employment for the state's youths in India or abroad. State Labour and Employment Minister Anil Rajbhar told reporters after the meeting that the mission would enable the state to bypass third-party recruitment agencies.
"With the formation of this mission, we have set a clear target. We aim to send 25,000 to 30,000 unemployed youth abroad and provide employment to nearly one lakh youth within India's private sector in a year," Rajbhar said.
