Delhi's Patiala House Court issues a notice on a plea filed by 26/11 accused Tahawwur Rana, seeking permission to speak to his family under jail regulations.

The court has also sought a report from Tihar Jail authorities on the matter. Rana remains in judicial custody until June 6, with the next hearing in the matter is scheduled for June 4.

India is expected to see higher-than-usual rainfall during this year’s monsoon, according to an update from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday. The IMD now predicts that the country will receive 106% of the long-period average (LPA) rainfall between June and September. This marks a slight increase from the earlier projection of 105%, keeping it within the “above normal” range. The LPA, calculated for the 1971–2020 period, stands at 87 cm for the monsoon season.
