A deepfake video of Aleema Khan, sister of jailed former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan, describing the powerful army chief Asim Munir as a "radicalised Islamist" who yearns for a war with India, went viral on X.

In an interview to Sky News, Aleema, who is a staunch critic of Munir and blames him for torturing her brother Imran in jail, can be heard saying in the manipulated clip that the army chief will always wage war against India given a chance since he is guided by his radicalised ideology.

However, the host of the show, Yalda Hakim, later pointed that several deepfakes are spreading rapidly on the interview and warned against increasingly dangerous consequences.

"A manipulated video using my interview with Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema is being shared with false claims about tensions between India & Pakistan," she said on X.

"This is terrifying — a deepfake of my interview with Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, is circulating. It falsely claims we discussed the Pakistan-India war earlier this year. We did NOT. This clip is completely fake," she said in anoher post.

In the fake video, Aleema can also be heard talking about Imran Khan's ties with BJP, saying that the former Pakistan PM wants to be friends with India and the ruling party.
