Intensifying his campaign ahead of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial face Tejashwi Yadav launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a public rally in Muzaffarpur on Friday.
Addressing a large crowd, Yadav accused the Prime Minister of visiting Bihar only during election season to seek votes and then criticising the state by calling it “Jungle Raj.”
“Modi ji just comes here to ask for votes. When he goes back, he only says ‘Jungle Raj’. Is there even a single day when crime doesn’t happen in Bihar? Isn’t this ‘Jungle Raj’?” Yadav said during a public rally in Bihar.
The RJD leader further questioned the Centre’s development priorities, alleging discrimination against Bihar in industrial investment.
“People of Bihar are looking for Modi ji. When he comes here, ask him... if he wants victory in Bihar, then why are factories being set up only in Gujarat?” he added.
Yadav’s remarks come amid heightened political activity across the state, with the ruling NDA and the Mahagathbandhan holding back-to-back rallies and trading barbs over development, unemployment, and law and order.
The RJD leader has been positioning himself as the voice of Bihar’s youth, repeatedly targeting the BJP for what he calls “biased economic policies” and “neglect of backward states.”
Strong reactions to Yadav being named the CM face bu Mahagathbandhan had surfaced on Thursday.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has reacted to the Chief Minister's face announcement by Mahagathbandhan and called it a "shameful day for Democracy".
On RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav being announced as Mahagathbandhan's CM face, Choudhary said, "Lalu Yadav declared the CM face of Mahagathbandhan through hooliganism torturing Congress and other parties, just the way they spread jungle raaj in Bihar... Now, his son, a registered criminal, is envisioning himself as the CM, and this is a shameful day for democracy..."
