BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut on Friday appealed to the media as well as influencers not to portray incidents happening in one village as entire Himachal Pradesh. She was referring to the flood situation in the state after incessant rainfall wreaked havoc in the past few weeks.

"I request the Influencers and media to exercise restraint while reporting. If an incident happens in one village, it should not be portrayed as if the entire Himachal is affected. Improvements being made should also be highlighted," Ranaut said.

"Tourism has been affected not just in Manali but across Himachal Pradesh. Everyone associated with the hospitality industry is impacted. I also appeal to the state government to provide some relief packages and facilities. Our government has already announced packages," Ranaut further said.

This came one day after, while being questioned on the flood situations and the victims in her constituency Mandi, that she appealed to the victims to also understand her pain. She said that day before, her cafe earned only Rs 50 and that she had to bear the loss even though she has to pay Rs 15 lakh as salaries to the staff.

"Imagine what I must be going through...I also have a restaurant here. Yesterday, I only did ₹50 worth of business. I have salaries of ₹15 lakh to pay. Please understand my pain too, I am human as well."

With this, Ranaut urged the woman, who was interviewing her, to also take into consideration her pain as she explained all about financial losses in her cafe business.

Kangana Ranaut had, earlier this year, announced that she would open her first cafe, The Mountain Story, in Manali. Meanwhile, she faced a push-back from residents during her visit to Manali's Patlikuhal area - that was damaged by floods.
