The Indian Air Force will conduct major air drills along the international border with Pakistan in Rajasthan, news agency ANI reported citing Air Force officials.
The exercise, part of India's routine operational readiness drills, will see the Indian Air Force (IAF) conducting maneuvers along the International Border in Rajasthan. According to the NOTAM, the exercise will begin at 3:30 PM on May 7 and conclude by 9:30 PM on May 8, restricting airspace in the affected areas.
The officials said that all frontline aircraft including the Rafale, Mirage 2000 and Sukhoi-30s will participate in the exercises.
Additionally, India is preparing to conduct an extensive nationwide civil defence mock exercises on Wednesday, which intends to evaluate the nation's readiness for hostile attacks.
The drill comes just weeks after 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed in a brutal terror attack in south Kashmir.
The drill consists various activities across civil defence districts, extending to village level, including air-raid siren activation, blackout measures, bunker checks, evacuation rehearsals, communication drills, camouflaging critical infrastructure etc.
