The Centre has set up a three-member ministerial committee to coordinate India's response to the ongoing crisis involving Iran, according to government sources cited by CNBC-TV18.
The panel will be chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and includes External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri as members.
Sources told the channel that the group has already held several rounds of meetings to review the situation and coordinate the government's response amid the escalating conflict in West Asia.
The three ministries will also work closely with other concerned ministries, departments and state governments to manage the situation and ensure a coordinated national response.
