Dr Sujatha and her three-year-old son are currently trying to process the death of Bengaluru resident Bharath Bhushan, who was killed by terrorists in the attack that took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on Tuesday.

Sujatha said that her husband Bharath was shot right in front of her and their child's eyes. She further revealed that the family was targeted after the terrorists asked for their names.

"They targeted people after asking their name. My husband was shot right in front of our eyes," she said. Currently, she is trying to be strong for their three-year-old son, who was also a witness to his father's murder.

"There are so many calls coming in, I am unable to speak. I just want my husband to be taken back home," Sujatha further said.

At least 28 people were killed after armed terrorists opened fire on a group of 40 tourists in Pahalgam on Tuesday afternoon. Reports said that the terrorists asked for the names of the tourists before gunning them down from a point-blank range.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi cut short his official Saudi Arabia trip and returned to India on Wednesday morning, following which, he conducted a meeting to discuss the attack.

Home Minister Amit Shah reached Srinagar on Tuesday and held a high-level meeting. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has also cut short her official trip to the US and Peru and will return to India soon.

"I strongly condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest. All possible assistance is being provided to those affected," PM Modi said in a social media post.

"Those behind this heinous act will be brought to justice...they will not be spared! Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable and it will get even stronger," he added.
