The unfortunate occurred on Tuesday (November 18) afternoon.

Days after Shourya Patil, a 16-year-old Class-X student of the St Columba School of New Delhi died by suicide following months of harassment, the deceased student reportedly had informed a school counsellor about his suicidal thoughts, according to the students of the school reported NDTV.

The unfortunate incident took place on Tuesday (November 18) afternoon. On Tuesday afternoon, Shourya Patil, still in his school uniform, went straight from his school in central Delhi to a metro station, and jumped from a high platform. The crowd called the police immediately, who found the 16-year-old boy's schoolbag, with what appeared to be a handwritten suicide note.

The broadcaster (NDTV) reported the students said the deceased teen  had confessed to feeling tense in the hours leading up to his death, and hit out at several of their teachers for having "body shamed" and "insulted" children at the drop of a hat. One boy spoke about Patil being mocked by a teacher during dance practice.

The boy allegedly jumped from Platform 2 of Rajendra Place Metro Station in Central Delhi on Tuesday. The family, which hails from Sangli district of Maharashtra, has alleged mistreatment, mockery, and mental pressure at school. The purported suicide note recovered from his school bag blamed three teachers and also requested that his organs to be donated, if they are in a condition to work.

“My son has repeatedly complained about harassment,” said Shourya’s father Pradeep Patil on Thursday. The father said that the situation worsened after he and his wife objected to the teachers’ conduct, with the school reportedly threatening Shourya with expulsion.
