Aam Aadmi Party national convener could soon land in legal soup with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Haryana government considering to file a case against Arvind Kejriwal over the latter's allegations that Haryana was "poisoning" Delhi's water supply.
"Kejriwal has spread panic among the people of Haryana and Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal has given an irresponsible statement...The Haryana government will not spare him. There is no truth in these allegations," Haryana minister Vipul Goel said on Wednesday.

On Monday, Kejriwal claimed that the BJP government in Haryana was "mixing poison" in the Yamuna water that flows into Delhi through the neighbouring state. The AAP has pointed to the high levels of ammonia - over 700 times the permissible limit, according to the AAP - as a result of untreated industrial waste and pollution to back its claim.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission on Tuesday wrote to Kejriwal asking him to submitted documentary evidence to substantiate his claim on Yamuna poisoning. The EC's letter came after a BJP delegation
"The electors tend to believe whatever is being said in public by their leaders and in that sense the statements, if not true, affect the campaign discourse, thereby vitiating the purity of elections and erode the trust of the voters…," the EC said in its communique to Kejriwal, asking him submit the evidence by 8 PM on January 29.
The Haryana minister's remarks come on a day Prime Minister Narendra Modi came down heavily on the AAP over its claims of Haryana poisoning Delhi's Yamuna water supply. Terming the claim a "disgusting allegation" against the people of Haryana, PM Modi attributed it to the party's desperation due to the fear of losing elections.
"Are people of Haryana different from those in Delhi? Are relatives of those living in Haryana not residing in Delhi? Can the people of Haryana poison the water their own people drink? The water sent by Haryana is consumed by everyone living in Delhi be it judges or diplomats ... it also includes this Prime Minister," Modi said.
"This is not just an insult to Haryana but to all Indians. Ours is a country where providing drinking water is considered a good deed...Such fear of losing that they are saying anything. I am sure Delhi will teach a lesson to people who say such things. In AAP-da walon ki lutiya Yamuna mein hi doobegi (AAP will sink in Yamuna waters)," he added.
On Wednesday morning, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi wrote to the Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, warning him not to go down in Delhi's history as someone with "blood on their hands".
In a strongly-worded two-page letter, Atishi reminded him that "even your letter acknowledges current ammonia level is 7.2 ppm (parts per million) - a figure 700 per cent above the permissible limit" and accused him of prioritising "loyalty to his political masters" over the welfare of Delhi residents.
