Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday launched a scathing attack at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that "he had blood of Pahalgam victims on his hands".
During the debate on Operation Sindoor in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi said, "The goal of Operation Sindoor was to protect PM Modi's image, because he had blood on his hands of people killed in Pahalgam."
Rahul Gandhi further questioned Modi government's political will in Operation Sindoor and said the government tied the hands of Indian Armed Forces from behind by telling Pakistan that India does not want escalation.
He said, "Rajnath ji said Op Sindoor started at 1.05 in morning, lasted for 22 minutes, at 1.35 we called Pakistani and told them we have hit your non-military targets and don't want escalation..He does not realise what he revealed...DGMO India was told by govt of India to ask for ceasefire at 1.35 itself, you told Pakistanis exactly what you would do, you told them you would not want escalation."
"Told Pakistanis India's political will -- we don't want to fight...Govt tied forces' hands behind their back, mistake was made by political leadership not to let IAF attack Pakistan's military infrastructure," he said.
He also questioned PM Modi's silence on multiple claims made by US President Donald Trump of brokering peace between India and Pakistan. "Donald Trump has said 29 times that he brokered the ceasefire. Fine, if he’s lying, then let Prime Minister Modi say it clearly in his speech here: You are lying. If he has the courage of Indira Gandhi, let him stand here and say - Donald Trump, you are a liar," Rahul Gandhi said.
