Ghaziabad, Noida, Punjab, J&K shut schools amid rains, flood threat

Severe rainfall and flood-like conditions have forced authorities in multiple states to shut schools and postpone examinations on September 3.

In Uttar Pradesh, District Magistrates of Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddh Nagar have ordered the closure of all schools from Nursery to Class 12. The directive applies to council schools, government and aided institutions, as well as CBSE, ICSE, and Madarsa Board-affiliated schools. Authorities have urged strict compliance with the orders.

The Punjab government has also extended the closure of all government, private, and aided schools until September 3, following widespread flooding. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the safety of children remains the top priority.
