'Get me married in Pak’: WhatsApp chat reveals Jyoti Malhotra’s unusual request to ISI operative

YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was arrested over charges of spying for Pakistan, expressed her interest in getting married in the neighbouring country during a conversation with an Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) operative.

The travel vlogger, who hails from Hisar in Haryana, was arrested last week on the charge of passing on sensitive information to Pakistani intelligence operative.

Malhotra, who has 3.77 lakh subscribers on YouTube, was in constant touch with Ali Hasan, who worked for the ISI, the spy agency of Pakistan. The two used to talk a lot, say reports.

Officials probing the case have now found a WhatsApp conversation between YouTuber and Hasan. "Get me married in Pakistan," she reportedly wrote in one of her messages to Hasan. The chats between the two have also revealed several coded conversations, specifically those related to undercover operations of India, NDTV said in a report.

It has come to light that Jyoti Malhotra visited Pakistan twice, during which she had come into contact with a Pakistan High Commission official in Delhi 'Rahim' alias Danish. It was Rahim who later introduced the Hisar woman to Pakistani intelligence operatives.

India, on May 13, expelled the official for allegedly indulging in espionage.

Malhotra's financial transactions and travel details are currently under scanner. Officials suspect that she was being cultivated as an 'asset' for future spy operations.

She had even put out a video claiming that the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack was not the fault of any Pakistani. "She was asked to push the pro-Pakistani narrative, which is a new form of warfare," sources told India Today.

Earlier today, the Haryana-based YouTuber allegedly confessed to having links with Pakistani intelligence agents and said that she was in regular contact with Danish, said several reports quoting sources.

After returning to India, Malhotra maintained contact with the Pakistani intel agents through encrypted messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, Snapchat and Telegram.

Malhotra is among several other individuals, including a student and a security guard, who have been arrested in the past week for alleged espionage amid heightened surveillance in the wake of India-Pakistan tensions.
