Indian cricket head coach and former member of Parliament from BJP, Gautam Gambhir, has reportedly received a death threat from "ISIS Kashmir".
His office said that on Wednesday, he approached the Delhi Police and filed a formal complaint for an FIR and sought measures to safeguard his family’s security.
The Delhi police are expected to conduct a thorough investigation and take appropriate measures to safeguard him and his close ones.
ANI has reported that Gambir received two threatening emails on April 22. One email was received in the afternoon and the other one in the evening. Both the emails contained the message 'IKILLU'.
The Delhi Police has also reacted to the death threat. "We have been informed about an alleged threat mail received on an email ID associated with Gautam Gambhir. The same is being investigated. He is already a Delhi Police protectee, and we do not comment on specific security arrangements," Police said.
Reports said that this is not the first time that Gambhir has received such death threats. He had received a similar email in November 2021.
This attack has come one day after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that shook the entire nation. Gambhir had taken to social media to pay condolences for the deceased.
"Praying for the families of the deceased. Those responsible for this will pay. India will strike," Gambhir wrote on X.
