YouTuber Jasbir Singh, who was arrested by the Punjab Police’s State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) under espionage charges for allegedly spying for Pakistan, has been remanded to two more days of police custody, as per the order of the Mohali Court.
The court produced its order after Jasbir was produced before it on Saturday after the end of his three-day police remand. The police was granted a two-day remand extension, even though the police sought a seven-day extension.
What did police find during the investigation? The police said that the 41-year-old YouTuber from Punjab had visited Pakistan six times and had about 150 contact numbers from Pakistan on his mobile phone. Reports said that during the investigation, Singh told the police that he had also given his laptop to a Pakistani intelligence officer for approximately an hour.
Earlier, it was also found that Singh had been in touch with an official named Danish alias Ehsan-ur-Rehman, who worked as a visa officer in the Pakistani embassy in Delhi. During the probe, Singh revealed that Danish had ordered some SIM cards from him.
A deeper probe into the case led police to know that Singh had attended the Pakistan National Day event after being invited by Danish and that is where he met Pakistani Army officials and vloggers.
Singh also travelled to Pakistan on three different occasions in 2020, 2021 and 2024 and during his visits, he met with ISI officers who then kept recruiting him for espionage services in India.
