Former Karnataka DGP Om Prakash was found dead at his residence in Bengaluru’s HSR Layout on Sunday.

According to preliminary investigation, Prakash is believed to have been murdered by his wife, Pallavi.

The police found stab wounds on the body of the retired DGP.

The body was found in a pool of blood on the ground floor of his three-story home in the HSR Layout area.

The police have started interrogating Prakash’s wife and daughter in connection with the incident.

Sources suggest that the retired DGP had previously voiced concerns about potential threats to his life to a few close contacts.

Authorities suspect that a family member may be involved in the incident.

His body has been taken to the hospital for a post-mortem examination, while the HSR Layout police remain at the crime scene to carry out further investigations.

The sudden and tragic death of the 1981 batch IPS officer, who held the position of state DGP from 2015 to 2017, has caused shock and sorrow among his colleagues and acquaintances.
