FIR against Mohammed Shami’s estranged wife after she allegedly beats up neighbour over land dispute

An FIR has been filed against Mohammed Shami's estranged wife Hasin Jahan and Arshi Jahan, who is Hasin Jahan's daughter from her first marriage, several media reports have said. The FIR was registered allegedly after Hasin Jahan beat a neighbour over a land dispute.

The incident happened in the Suri area of Birbhum in West Bengal. Reportedly, the neighbour named Guddu Bibi was trying to encroach a plot of land that belonged to Arshi. The matter escalated when construction began on the plot, eventually leading to Hasin Jahan physically attacking Bibi.

Videos and pictures of the incident flooded the web but it remains unclear if the videos and pictures are authentic in nature. In the viral video, a woman who is supposedly Hasin Jahan can be seen beating Bibi, who has reportedly been admitted to Suri Sadar Hospital with a head injury.

After the altercation, Hasin and the neighbours filed written complaints at Suri police station. Meanwhile, other local residents also went to the police station at night to file a complaint against Hasin and gave in a deputation with a mass signed petition that several people supported - demanding that strict action be taken against her.

People also alleged that Hasin often threatens them false cases and also uses foul language against them. Hasin Jahan reportedly refused to comment on the allegations levied against her, The New Indian Express reported.
