External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar will be on a three-day visit to China starting July 13, his first visit after both nations decided on the patrolling agreement last year in October, according to News18.
Jaishankar will first visit Beijing for a couple of meetings and then will visit Tianjin to attend the SCO Foreign Minister’s meeting.
Recently, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also visited China to attend SCO Defence Minister’s Meeting.
Earlier, NSA Ajit Doval visited China twice for SCO security meetings while foreign secretary Vikram Misri visited China in January.
Jaishankar's visit will be significant as New Delhi and Beijing aims to normal ties lately. The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has resumed after a gap of five years. Additionally, both nations are discussing to resume direct flight.
Rajnath Singh during his visit stressed on border management and to have a permanent solution of border demarcation.
China said that its boundary dispute with India is “complicated" and expressed its willingness to engage in talks on border delimitation and maintain peace along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
