Application of residential certificate of 'Donald Trump' submitted in Bihar's Samastipur

'Donald Trump' was denied a residential certificate in the Samastipur area of Bihar after an application was submitted through the government’s RTPS (Right to Public Services) portal seeking a residential certificate in the name of “Donald John Trump".

The application was dated July 29 and had listed the applicant's father as "Frederick Christ Trump". The residential address mentioned in the application was Hasanpur, Ward 13, Bakarpur Post, Mohiuddin Nagar Block, Samastipur in Bihar.

The supporting documents that had been attached along with the application were a photograph of US President Donald Trump and a forged Aadhaar card - which led to suspicion and was caught by officials during review.

When the matter was investigated further, the Revenue Officer of Mohiuddin Nagar discovered several irregularities with the application. These included tampered photo IDs, barcode distortions and personal details that had been altered. These discrepancies prompted the application to be rejected on August 4.

This is, however, not the first such case in Bihar. The process of issuing residence certificates has taken a bizarre turn in Bihar ever since the Election Commission started the SIR activity in the state. The authorities are now dealing with a series of fake and often outrageous applications. What began with a certificate issued in the name of ‘Dog Babu’ has now escalated to divine figures and even birds.

Recently, officials found online applications for residence certificates submitted under the names of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, and a crow. The residential application for ‘Shri Ram’ featured a photo of the deity and listed his father's name as Dashrath, his mother’s name as Kaushalya, and gave Ayodhya as the village, all references from the Ramayana. However, instead of Uttar Pradesh, the district was listed as Khagaria in Bihar. The mobile number attached was a fake one: 9999999999, according to a report by NDTV.
