Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said while Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said he would inform the Maharashtra Chief Minister about his decision about supporting NDA’s vice-presidential nominee, NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar informed he will have to go with the candidate fielded by the INDIA bloc.
"I spoke to Uddhav Thackeray ji and Sharad Pawar ji and requested them to support Maharashtra Governor's (CP Radhakrishnan) candidature for Vice Presidential elections. Uddhav ji told me that he will discuss and let me know. Sharad Pawar ji said that he will have to go with the candidate fielded by the Opposition," the CM said.

The Vice Presidential elections are scheduled to be held on September 9, with counting to take place on the same day.
Retired Supreme Court judge B Sudershan Reddy was declared as the Opposition's joint nominee for the vice-presidential election. He is up against senior BJP leader and NDA candidate CP Radhakrishnan.
